Description: NEW OPENING - GENERAL MANAGER CASUAL DINING CONCEPT We are currently looking to recruit a General Manager for a new casual dining & Bar concept in the Hull area. As this is a new venture, you will get the opportunity to have a real influence on the implementation and management of this venue from its current stage to its opening and furthermore. This will be the city’s most modern bar and casual dining venue, which due to its owners, will be high profile and bring media attention. The owners are keen to develop a quality Food & Beverage offering with a Rotisserie, steaks and sharing boards and gourmet burgers. There will be a range of draught beers and cocktails. The venue will have a VIP area which will seat around 20 people. The idea is that the venue will appeal to people of all ages including families. It will have an outdoor seating area also and car parking for around 80 cars. This is a senior position, which comes with a large amount of responsibility. In return for your efforts, you will be highly rewarded with an attractive salary of £40,000 - £45,000 plus bonus. We are seeking a General Manager who can take full responsibility of all elements of the venue, which includes the full customer experience, the recruitment and management of up to 30 employees’ and to take responsibility for the profitability of the venue. The successful candidate will be expected to handle all aspects of running a successful venue, including marketing and media to continuously attract business. Duties that we expect you to have previously under taken. You will report directly in to the owners of the venue and be the 1st point of contact for everything related to the smooth running of the venue. The role of the General Manager will include: Actively communicate with all nominated suppliers to ensure that the products received into the business are maintained at the highest level of quality Communicate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure that relationships are maintained and support supplied when required Ensure that company policies and statutory obligations towards the rights of the employees e.g equal opportunities, employment principles and guidelines for managers are implemented at all times. Ensure all staff receive regular and prompt training in compliance with the company standards and where applicable by law Establish channels of communication by holding weekly meetings with managers Maintain staff discipline and take appropriate action where necessary Managing Marketing and Media Ensure that the guest always receives the highest standards of product, presentation and service. Take responsibility of overviewing recruitment and management of all employees whilst ensuring that all related employment legislation is adhered to. Motivate both management and staff teams to establish channels of communication for all company and restaurant information. Ensure a cascade of information from operations meetings to line managers Operate an ongoing succession plan for the units. Ensure that managers and staff have clear objective and that their performance is reviewed regularly Be responsible for the motivation of all employees through recognition, feedback and the implementation of incentive schemes Financial Sales and Profit responsibilities of the General Manager will include; Maximize profitability through driving sales and controlled margins whist maintaining company standards Forecast and monitor profit and loss on a weekly basis Deliver budget and forecast ratios on all key lines of management accounts Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed for due diligence Be responsible for the management of stock, security and wastage implement initiatives to control any areas of concern Minimise spends on key supplier and accounts through close management of costs Ensure, at all times, that the company financial controls and paperwork are adhered to and operate all transactions highlighted in the company cash handling policy Minimise wastage by regularly reviewing stock holding and ordering processes for their units Be responsible for ensuring completed weekly stock counts are done in their units and producing an accurate purchase cost figure Operational Process: Maintain food and service quality and consistency in line with company standards Uphold standards of quality, presentation and cleanliness throughout their units. Ensure that the businesses are effectively managed and staffed at all times Complete and operate an effective business plan for each unit To complete a monthly site audit with managers Ensure managers are fully trained on new initiatives and processes during meetings Investigate any cash and security losses to the company in a timely professional manner
