Commercial Director, £55,000 – £60,000 per annum plus benefits. Leeds, Yorkshire. With a strong Rooms Revenue focus, you will work alongside the Director of Sales to optimise performance across Rooms, Conferencing, Meetings and Events, driving sustainable growth in a competitive city-centre market.
You will shape the commercial success of this high profile, high volume city centre hotel, driving performance across a diverse business mix and ensuring the hotel competes strongly in a dynamic Leeds market. You will lead a multi disciplinary commercial team, ensuring that pricing, distribution, sales activity, digital marketing and event space optimisation operate under a unified, data driven strategy.
This role requires an experienced commercial leader with a strong background in large city centre hotels, capable of navigating complex market conditions, peak demand periods
and major event driven compression.
This role is underpinned by deep expertise in Rooms Revenue Management, with responsibility for leading pricing, yield, demand strategy and market share performance across all trading conditions.
Above all, this role requires a confident, strategic leader who can balance big picture thinking with hands on oversight, creating momentum, accountability and alignment across all commercial functions while empowering specialists to excel.
- Experienced leader with a strong track record of driving commercial performance in one or more of the following areas: sales, revenue, marketing and events
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- Deep, hands-on Rooms Revenue Management expertise within a large, complex, full-service city-centre hotel environment.
- 5+ years of relevant commercial/strategy experience in a hospitality business of similar size and scope.
- Large city market expertise. Leeds market knowledge is desirable.
- Proven experience in developing commercial strategies for Full Service Upscale hotels of similar size.
- A requirement for experience in large conferencing hotel environments
- Provide evidence of collaboration with internal teams like sales, revenue management and marketing that drives overall performance for all revenue streams.
- Warm and personable communication style, capable of building long-term relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to work closely across the hotel departments and with the wider company commercial teams, demonstrating teamwork.
- Systems knowledge: Proficiency in industry-standard systems such as STR, RMS systems, RFP systems / portals and the GDS to effectively manage luxury market segments.
- Proficient in budgeting and financial management, using available tools to forecast, plan, and track revenue. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and online tools.
