Job Description:

Director of Sales – Hampshire. 80 bedrooms, stylish M&E space which is ideal for social events & parties. Restaurant, bar, outdoor courtyard and car parking. £45,000 – £50,000 per annum.

We’re looking for a commercially driven, highly connected Director of Sales to lead and elevate total hotel revenue at this 4 star hotel near Southampton.

This is a high-impact, front-facing role for someone who thrives on building relationships, spotting opportunities, and driving results across corporate, MICE, and leisure segments. You’ll work in close partnership with the General Manager, Heads of Department, and central support teams to deliver a cohesive, revenue-focused sales strategy—without direct reports.

This hotel blends heritage charm with modern hospitality. Your role is to ensure it stands out as the first choice in the market.

The Role

You will take ownership of proactive sales performance, identifying and converting new business while strengthening existing partnerships. This is not a desk-based role—you’ll be visible in the market, building a strong network and positioning the hotel at the centre of opportunity.

You’ll act as the commercial connector, aligning sales, revenue, marketing, and operations to deliver a consistent and compelling approach to the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive total hotel sales across rooms, meetings & events, and F&B
  • Identify, target, and convert new business opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans with clear revenue objectives
  • Position the hotel as a preferred venue for corporate, MICE, and leisure segments
  • Build strong relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners to generate direct and indirect business
  • Maintain a strong presence in the market through networking, client meetings, and industry events
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management and Marketing to deliver aligned, commercially focused strategies
  • Work with external partners including GDS providers and digital marketing agencies to maximise visibility and conversion
  • Support and enhance conference and events sales initiatives, including creative campaigns and familiarisation activity
  • Drive awareness and revenue through local events and F&B initiatives
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to ensure the hotel remains competitive and well-positioned
  • Actively contribute to lead generation and ensure opportunities are effectively followed up in collaboration with the wider sales function
